About Bart Medlock
 
First and foremost, I'm a husband to a very beautiful woman in every sense of the word and father to a daughter and son that – unfortunately for my wife – take after their dad a little too much. In keeping with family being my priority, I've managed to keep the following commitments 99% of the time. We sit down to dinner together as a family each evening sometime around 6 o'clock and Sunday is family day/my only regularly scheduled day off.

Second, I'm a top producing RE/MAX agent with the same goal in serving each client. To make my client's home buying or selling experience such that a) they'll share their experience working with me among their family/friends/co-workers and b)

when the time comes again to buy/sell, I'm the only call they make. I accomplish this by simply treating them how I would want to be treated if I were buying or selling a home.

A little more about me………


Born 1970 same year as Andre Agassi and Matt Damon, raised in Southern Indiana, much of my family is from Salem, IN – for the record my wife is more attractive than Andre's.

Started working at 16 as a waiter at Ponderosa Steakhouse.

Attended Clarksville schools, graduated 12th in my class from CHS 1988 with a 2.8 GPA….not so sure that's a real bragging point for me or the school.

Graduated Ball State University 1993 with diploma noting BA in Public Relations but confident I should have received a PhD in other areas not advertised in the general curriculum.

As it became obvious my dream of rock stardom wasn't panning out, I went to work selling satellite dishes door-to-door out in the country. In a short period of time I became a sales manager with that company and relocated to Indianapolis in 1994.

For reasons undisclosed – just ask if you want to know – I returned to Louisville in 1995 and went back to work in the restaurant business as a server, bartender and manager at various establishments.

At 31, life had turned around drastically on a personal level - including having met my future wife - but it was time for a change professionally. I got my real estate license in 2002 and bet the house on myself. I quit bartending, went 2 months with zero income and lived off credit cards along with a couple big pickle jars of change I had saved from bartending.

Shortly after earning my real estate license I began working as a mortgage loan officer too. That experience is a significant benefit to my clients today, but I did not enjoy the mortgage business.

Eventually, as of this writing, it's worked out and the bills are paid. I'm fortunate to earn a living doing something I enjoy and take pride in knowing my clients only pay for my services when the job is completed – their home is sold. Buyers get the benefit of my services without any direct payment out of their pocket. First time buyers often wonder how that works, just ask and I can explain.

In 2004 I married the woman of my dreams. Our daughter was born in 2006 and our son in 2008. Those were 3 of the best days in my life.

I joined RE/MAX in 2005 which – looking back – seems to be the springboard from which my business took off. I have helped hundreds of clients buy and sell homes. Since 2006 I've helped 50 – 60 clients' per year close on a home sale or purchase. That's way above what an average agent does in Southern Indiana/Greater Louisville.

I'm not trying to toot my own horn but if you are reading this you may be interviewing me to help you buy or sell a home. I believe you should know what my experience level is compared other agents. It will help make choosing me easier.

Outside of being a husband, father and REALTOR I enjoy many interests/activities. I love cooking for my family most evenings especially grilling out. I enjoy photography and don't believe you will find a better agent to photograph your home/market it online. I love music, outdoor music festivals – especially blues festivals. I proposed to my wife during the Chicago Blues Festival in 2003. I'm a Yankees fan and my dog's name is Jeter. I love to travel where I can scuba dive. I love boating anywhere. There's just something about the wind in my face and crispness of the air boating on a lake or an ocean. I could go on and on.
